Creating a Border in Design Space

I know that it’s been a while since you have seen a Tuesday Tutorial involving the Cricut©.  We have had an eventful few months and I am so grateful that as Close to My Heart Consultant, I am able to have a home business that allows me to put my family first. I am also thankful for followers, like you, who understand that family is a priority. This week, I was able to create a quick Tuesday Tutorial  to show you how I created the scallop border in Design Space for my “Life is a Beautiful Adventure” layout.

Many times when you attempt to create a border in Design Space™, you have issues with the image warping as you resize it to the size you need.  Today, I am going to show you one way to avoid this.

Begin by inserting the Scalloped Border – #M418D1D from the Artistry Collection into your Canvas. I want my border to be 5″ x .75″. Watch what happens when I unlock the SIZE and attempt to change the width and height of this image.

It ends up warped. Since I know that I want the Height to be .75″, I am going to start by typing .75″ into the Height box. I do not unlock or change anything else.

Now I am going to insert a Square shape, and resize the image to 5″ x 2″.

Bring the Scallop Boarder to the front (Move to Front), and position the border over the rectangle you created.

Select All and choose Slice. Delete the unwanted images and now you have a Scallop Border that is exactly 5″ x .75″.

How cool is that?!  Wouldn’t you love to have a home business that allows you to play on your Cricut©, earn extra income, put your family first, and design with paper? Being a Close to My Heart Consultant is such a blessing for me and I am equally blessed by all the members on my HeARTfully Blessed Creations Team. I would love to have you join our team as a Consultant. Each week, I offer my team members these tutorials as LIVE videos on our team Facebook page so that they can learn how to create with our Cricut® collections. Please contact me or visit my website to learn how you can earn extra income doing what you love and join me LIVE for these tutorials.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

If you have been debating about upgrading your Cricut so that you can play along in Design Space™, you can save 10% this week on the new Cricut Maker™ or save even more when you purchase any of the Explore Bundles.
