Masculine Color Dare Card

Have you ever had one of those days where no matter how much you try to get something to work, it refuses to cooperate and becomes the bane of your existence?! Well, that is exactly how I felt when I was trying to create a card for this week’s Color My Heart Dare Challenge.

This week’s theme is a Twisted Tic-Tac-Toe and normally, I would have tossed out the card, cried a little, maybe curled in a ball in the corner, ate a little chocolate, then returned to the drawing board. In all honesty though, I really wanted you to see that sometimes the cards I create don’t exactly turn out how I envisioned them.

After much angst over this design, I am still in a debate with myself over which is the better card. I do like the look of the Nutmeg Argyle pattern on the Pacifica background, and the overall structure of the card isn’t horrible, but I am still torn as to which card has a better overall look.

I would love to hear what you think.  We have until September 20th to enter our creations into this week’s challenge and HOPEFULLY by then I will have decided which one I prefer.  I would love to see your creations entered into this week’s challenge and can’t wait to see what you create!

  1. I like the pop of color in the card on the left, but maybe use a blue burlap ribbon instead of the stitched one? If the blue burlap is too dark, perhaps a gentle swipe of white ink would soften it.

  2. I like the flaxen color better as it makes the words pop more. I agree with Ann, I would change out the ribbon on the top of the flaxen, it blends too much. Maybe the Dark blue in the back ground patterned paper?

  3. I could have stolen your post for this weeks dare…isn’t it funny how every once in a while things just don’t come together as they should. I’m not going to be any help because I like both cards and am so happy that you shared them at the Color My Heart Color Dare.

  4. Carrie, I love both of your cards and have been looking at your cards trying to figure out which one I would choose…. I think I like the contrast of the Flaxen. I think like the others have said switching the ribbon to the burlap may be the difference.
