This week, I am venturing into my craft room after a month long hiatus and honestly felt like I lost all crafting abilities. I am not sure if is due to the fact that I am “out of practice”, or that my body is still healing and it takes all I have to muster-up a single card. Either way, I am hoping that this this Heartfelt Anniversary Shaker Card inspires you to create with a few of our new products.
I knew that I wanted to use papers from our new Something Fierce collection to create an anniversary card, but questioned how to use dinosaurs in an elegant manner. After thumbing through the pack, I realized, in true CTMH style, that there are so many beautiful patterns to this collection.
I found that the combination of Mink, Pewter, Raspberry, and Ballerina was a good fit for an anniversary card. I began by cutting out a Shaker Window, a Stitched Heart, and a Heart Tag from various papers and cardstock and started layering.
The layers all looked fine, but the card didn’t feel “grounded” so I decided to cut a strip of Raspberry Watercolor Washed paper and folded it to make a cute border. I added an additional layer of Silver Glitter paper to match the Silver Sequins and Silver Embellishing Thread that I used on the card. This gave me a visual triangle of silver. The final touch was to add three small Confetti Hearts in the bottom corner to match the hearts I have on the sentiment and the heart tag. (another visual triangle)
This month’s, Card Captions stamp of the month is unquestionably one that you will want to add to your collection. As paper crafting addicts, we are continually looking for sentiments for our creations, and this acrylic stamp set is chock full of them.
