12 Days of Christmas Creations ~ Gifts of Warm Cocoa with a Double Trouble Challenge

As we continue with 12 Days of Christmas Creations, I wanted to inspire you to give some sweet treats of Warm Cocoa (with sprinkles) to your neighbors, co-workers, friends,  and family this holiday season.  This adorable little box can be filled with your favorite cocoa (or coffee), some marshmallows (or coffee beans), and a chocolate spoon (with sprinkles).

I found inspiration from a few other similar projects on Pinterest, and I decided to give it my own twist. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to enter it into the weekly Double Trouble Challenge where we were asked to make a sweet treat for the Fall/Winter holidays using a mood board to motivate our mojo and it needed to include sprinkles on top.

The box was created with my Explore Air 2 in Cricut Design Space™ using a Rectangle shape, Score Lines, and Cut Lines. Later this week, I will be showing a short video in my VIP Facebook Group demonstrating how to create your own box.

Once the box was assembled, I decorated it with ‘Tis the Season paper, a cute Sentiment stamped in Charcoal on cardstock circles cut from our Thin Cuts metal dies, and a stamped Poinsettia. To create the layered Poinsettia, I stamped the two images (one with New England Ivy, one with Candy Apple), cut them out and layered them using a Foam Dot. It’s hard to see, but there is a little sparkle on that Poinsettia.

The little bag of marshmallows was even more fun to create.  I used our Fancy Tags Thin Cuts metal dies to cut out the topper, decorated it with a stamped snowflake image and Thin Cut circles, and added a little New England Ivy Ribbon that I divided into individual threads.

This little gift of Warm Cocoa (or coffee) is simple to create and would make a great gift to give. (Especially when you need a few last minute gifts).  Each of the supplies I used can be purchased from my website. I am blessed by each one of you who take the time to shop my website and support my home business.

Make sure to come back tomorrow for my next 12 Days of Christmas Creation. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Tuesday Tutorial: Create New Images with Contour

Did you know that with Design Space™, you can increase the number on images in our Cricut™ Collections? Most of our collections contain over 700 images, and today I am going to show you how to double, or even triple, that number using the Hide Contour feature while showing you create this wonderful tag for Thanksgiving.

My Thanksgiving Tag, was created using multiple images from our Artbooking and Artistry Cricut™ Collections. As you will see, by manipulating these images using the Hide Contour feature, I was able to create “New” images specifically for my project. You can use the directions below to  create a Thanksgiving Tag of your own. A complete list of the products I used can be found at the very bottom of this post.

Design Space Instructions:
1. Insert images Give Thanks (#M40A0C), Dashed Tag (#M469CE), and Deer (#M417E30) images into your Canvas.

2. Using the Edit Menu, UNLOCK the image and RESIZE the image. Click in the INK BLOT in the Layers Panel and change to color.

3. I need to remove some of the unwanted cuts from my tag. This is where I use Hide Contour. Select the Tag image and choose CONTOUR from the Layers Panel.

4. A new window will appear showing each cut that is on your image. As you click on each image you want to remove, it will disappear from the image and turn darker grey in the list of images on the right. Remove the Dashes and the Holes at the base of the tag by clicking on each individual cut image.

5. We are going to use this same Contour feature to create the “Deer” for our tag. First, you will need to remove the base layer of the image. You can do this by either UNGROUPING the image, select the image and DELETE, or select the image you wish to delete in the Layers Panel and Delete.

6.  Select the “Deer” image and choose CONTOUR. There are two images shown in the list of images. Choose the “Shield” shape, and it will remove the cut leaving only the “Deer” image remaining.

7. Arrange the Images, Resize, and Color to desired colors and you are finished.

You can use this tag to wrap with your silverware, to decorate your home, or place it on a card or scrapbook page. I plan on adding these Give Thanks Tags to some jars of candy for our Thanksgiving table this year. I love how the Gold Foil paper looks on this project and how well the Transparent Gloss Texture Paste accentuates the tag.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Tuesday Tutorial in Design Space™.  If you have been considering upgrading your Cricut™ machine so that you can play along, today is a great day to purchase one on their website. Cricut™ has some awesome bundles on sale this week that are worth taking advantage of, and you can get FREE SHIPPING on order over $99 to the US and Canada when you use the code FREENOV.

Creating Seasonal Trees Fall Lanterns & Free Design Space File for VIPs

If you have ever visited my home, you will see that I redecorate for every season. In my basement you will find a plethora of holiday decorations, and as a crafter, I inevitably add more each year. If you are a seasonal decorator like me, you will enjoy making this Fall Lantern!  This month, I am giving away the Cricut Design Space™ file FREE to any customer who joins my VIP Facebook Group. Instructions for getting this file can be found at the very bottom of this post. (Sorry, this is offer is not available to any consultants that are not on my team.)

My Fall Lantern design is a simple box I made in Cricut Design Space™ using a leaf image from our Artistry Cricut™ Collection. This Cricut™ collection can be ordered directly through my website or purchased for HALF-PRICE when you host a qualifying party.  You will need to own the collection to cut out my Fall Lantern.

Once you have opened the images in Design Space™ you can cut the lantern from our beautiful Fall Grateful Heart collection of papers and Vellum.  I chose to use the Pomegranate pattern paper because I like how the Yellow Plaid pattern on the back shows through on the leaves. It reminds me of the when the various shades of leaves blow on the trees out my craft room window. This nostalgic moment brought to you by the Heart2Heart Inspired By Nature challenge, which I joined this week.

You have a variety of patterns to choose from in this paper pack. I think it would look just as beautiful cut from the Fern Dots, the Floral, or the Blue Checked patterns.  I kept my design simple by adding just a small strip of paper and some Gold & White Skinny  Ribbon at the base of the lantern. If you would like a more embellished Fall Lantern, you could add to the design using Complements, Cork Shapes, or Fern Stitched Ribbon.

After the Vellum was cut, I stamped images from the Seasonal Trees stamp of the month onto each window and used Clear Embossing Powder to set the ink. Be cautious when heating your vellum because it can cause the paper to warp if too much heat is applied.

When you order your supplies for this Fall Lantern through my website, make sure to join the MYSTERY HOSTESS party. This online party is open through November 15th, currently has $30 in rewards, and is close to getting one item 50% off (you could get that Cricut™ collection you wanted). Don’t forget to order the Seasonal Trees stamp of the month which is only available through November 30th.

I am sure you are wondering HOW to get this Fall Lantern file. All you need to do is ask to join my Create with Miss. Carrie’s Creations VIP Group. Once I have received your request, I will send you a private message with a link to the Fall Lantern file.  I do ask that you do not share this file with others, post it online, resell it, or post it as your own creative work.  This offer is for Customers ONLY and my HeARTfully Blessed Creations Team members. (Sorry, it is not available to other consultants.)

Have a wonderful week, my friends. I can’t wait to see what you create!

If you would like to learn more about getting $75 in product credit when you joining our HeARTfully Blessed Creations team as a consultant, receiving this file free as a HBC team member, or receiving free training that I offer to my HeARTfully Blessed Creations Team, you can leave a comment below and I will happily answer all of you questions.

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Decorations

As many of you know, I can’t ever use a product to create something as it was intended so, when I first saw the Christmas Elves in the Season of Joy Cricut™ Collection, I just had to make this adorable Pilgrim Couple to add to my Thanksgiving Decor. I am positive that many of you reading this post would love to be able recreate this couple. At the very bottom of this post, you will find a list of the products I used as well as a way that you can get the Design Space™ file FREE during the month of November.

If you look at the Shape Index, you will see that the original images I used from Season of Joy Digital Cricut™ Collection were intended for some Christmas Elves. As cute as these elves are, I am not ready to start creating for Christmas so, I decided to use products from our Grateful Heart collection and make myself two delightful Pilgrims.

I enjoy adding little details to my projects. I added stitching on the clothing and “lace” on the apron using our Decorative Borders Thin Cuts. I also used some Burlap Ribbon to for some bows, buttons, and embellishments. Some final touches were added using the Grateful Heart Complements, Cork Shapes, and a Chrysanthemum from our Flower Market Collection.

♥ Aren’t they just the cutest? ♥ I am sure this Pilgrim Couple would look delightful as decorations on your Thanksgiving table or filled with treats and given to your Thanksgiving guests. If you would like to create this couple, I am giving away the Design Space™ file for FREE with any order of $30 or more (before tax & shipping) from my website during the month of November.

You will need to own the Season of Joy Digital Cricut™ Collection as well as the Flower Market Cricut™ Collection to cut out the images for the Pilgrim Couple. If you haven’t had a chance to view any of our Cricut™ Collections, you can view all of the shape indexes here. If you are like me, you will want to see what images are included in each collection before purchasing them.

I can’t wait to see what you create for your Thanksgiving table!

Love of Crafting Treats

Can you believe that August is almost over? I have been working away in my craft room trying to prepare for upcoming events, when I realized that this adorable stamp set will be gone in a few days. 😢 Honestly, the For the Love of Crafting stamp set is one set I wish was available throughout the year.  I have been able to create so many projects with these sentiments and images.

Before the month ends, I had to show you one more project I have been working on for a special group of ladies.  These fabulous little treat bags were simple to create using the For the Love of Crafting stamp set and our Close to My Heart products.

I simply cut out the two tags from White Daisy & Poppy cardstock using images from our You Are Here Cricut™ collection. I brushed light blue watercolor onto both tag backgrounds to match the gift bags.  I then splattered red watercolor and shimmer onto the larger tag.  Once both tags were dry, I stamped each image in Memento Ink and shaded in the word “Glitter” using a Journaling Pen. I then added some more shimmer (of course) to the word “Glitter” to make it really stand out.

Add a few Black Dots, some leftover ribbon and twine, with, of course, chocolate, and these treats are all set to give away to some very deserving women.

If you haven’t had a chance to purchase the For the Love of Crafting stamp set, make sure to get a hold of one before August 31st.  Many of our products, like the Poppy Cardstock & Memento Ink, are retiring at the end of the month. You can visit the GOING SOON section of my website to see a full list of the retiring products AND if your order totals $50.00 or more*, you can get the For the Love of Crafting stamp set for ONLY $5.00. 😁 I can’t wait to see what you create with this set!

Tuesday Tutorial Uploading an Image

Many times I am looking for a specific project I want to make, but I cannot find it anywhere in Cricut Design Space™.  This is when the “Upload” feature comes in handy.  I can add just about any image I find online into my Canvas and create a cut image, write image, or a print-then-cut image. This past week, I really wanted a specific box that was not in my Images files, so I found an SVG file and uploaded into Design Space™. Today, I am going to show you how I did that.

Design Space™ Instructions:
1. Using your favorite search engine, search “SVG Box File”.  I found one that I liked on The Craft Chop(Make sure the site you choose is reputable and that you have up-to-date antivirus software on your computer.)
2. Save the file onto your computer. Take note of where you saved the file so you can find it later.  I have a file called “SVG Files” in my Google Drive that I save all of mine to.
3. Open a New Project in Cricut Design Space™.
4. Choose UPLOAD, then choose UPLOAD IMAGE.

5. BROWSE to find the SVG image you saved earlier. Open the image and it will appear on the screen.

6. NAME and TAG your image so that you can find it later.  Choose SAVE.

7. You will see the image you uploaded in your “Recently uploaded images” files.  The image will remain in your files until you Delete it.  (You can delete the image by choose the (i)information button and choosing delete.)

8. Select the image you wish to load onto your Canvas and choose INSERT IMAGE.
9. As you can see, all of the lines are turned into cut lines once the image is uploaded. You will need to choose the “Scissors” image next to each line and change it to a “Score Line”.

10. SELECT ALL and ATTACH so that the Score Lines are attached to the image. Resize as needed and Make it.

That’s it! Now you have the perfect box you need to your project.  Be sure you watch your inbox so that you can see the Father’s Day Card & Box project I created using this image. I can’t wait to see what you create in Design Space™.

If you have been considering upgrading you machine so that you play along in Cricut Design Space™, now is the time to take advantage of an amazing special.  May 25th through June 6th, Cricut Explore® machines are on sale starting at $149.99 PLUS you can get FREE shipping using the code MAYSHIP.
