Quick & Easy Tag Card

A while back, I bought the Tagged with Love acrylic stamp set and I have been itching  to use it for the Color My Heart Dare challenge.  I was so excited to see that this set was one of the exclusive stamp sets chosen to bring back for our July Stampaganza. This card is simple to make and can be altered to fit any occasion just by choosing one of the other sentiments on the Tagged with Love stamp set.  I also love the fact that this card is a great way to use up some of your leftover paper scraps like I did here with the Prickly Pear papers.

Storybook Alphabet Blog Hop

Welcome to the Storybook Alphabet Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring the July Storybook Alphabet stamp set, which is perfect for creating this patriotic Fourth of July card.   This acrylic stamp set has all 26 letters of the alphabet in a simple, leafy font and is a must-have for your collection.  2017JulySOTMIf you have come here from Michele Rowley’s blog, you are on the right path! When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog.  This blog hop is designed to allow you to start here and work your way around. It’s simple, fun, and full of ideas.

If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog: http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

During the month of July, I will be creating weekly projects using the Storybook Alphabet stamp set. This week, I used the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge to create a multi-layered Fourth of July card. This Pinterest inspired card could be altered by changing “USA” to a person’s initials or “I♥U”. You could also choose to give this card to active military personnel or a veteran as an appreciation for their service. As always, I’ve included a list of the products used to create this card at the very bottom of this post as well as a Cricut® Design Space link so that you can create this card.

Hello Foxy Baby Layout

The June Stamp of the Month, Hello Foxy,  has three cute little foxes and I found them to be perfect for creating a page for my son’s baby album.  I have been using our Whimsy Fundamentals papers for his album and this page will be a wonderful addition.  I designed this entire layout using  Cricut® Design Space, so, to make your lives easier, I am sharing the file with you!    Be sure to read to the bottom of this post for a link to the file.  You will need to own the Close to My Heart Cartridges I used in order to cut out the file. As always, I’ve included a list of the products I used to create this layout at the very bottom of this post.

HelloFoxySOTMBabyPage.jpg

Paper Needed: 12” x 12″ White Daisy Cardstock, 10″ x 7″ B&T Paper (I used Glacier Diagonal Stripe), 1″ x 8″ B&T Paper (I used Canary Stripe),  11¼” x ½” B&T Paper (I used Crystal Blue Hashmark), 11½” x ½” Canary Cardstock, 11¼” x ¼” Sea Glass Glitter Paper, 11¼” x ¾” B&T Paper (I used Canary Stripe), 6½” x 4½” B&T Paper (I used Crystal Blue Hashmark)

Techniques Used:

  • The background was created by spattering Light Blue Watercolor Paint onto the 12″ x 12″ White Daisy Cardstock.
  • This layout was created using Cricut® Design Space.  You can find the file here.  You must own the Artistry Cricut® Cartridge and Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge in order to be able to cut out the images.
  • The “Fox” image is from the Hello Foxy Acrylic stamp set. The image was stamped using Black Ink then shaded with Watercolor Pencils.

Remember, the Hello Foxy Acrylic stamp set is available until June 30th !  Contact me or visit my website to see how you can get this stamp set for only $5.00!

Easter Bunny Treat Bag

I love giving out little treats at Easter, and this bag was simple and fun to create using the Close to My Heart Easter Bunny stamp set.  You can alter this bag and make it your own creation by simply changing the colors, the stamps used, or by adding a name to the front flap.  I will be posting ideas for Easter treats all week so be sure to visit often. At the very bottom of this post, I’ve included a list of the products I have used to create this project.

EasterBags

Assembly Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of cardstock to 8½” x 11″  (I used Glacier for the bag).
2. Score the cardstock on the long side at 1″, 4″, 6″ and 9″.
3. Score the shorter side at 2″ and 7″.
4. Fold up on each of the score marks, using a bone folder to burnish each of the folds.
5. Cut the cardstock in the places indicated in the picture below. NOTE: I cut my bottom flaps at a slight angle so that they fold neatly when creating the bag.
EasterBag_Score&Cut.jpg
6. If desired, use a corner rounder on the corners of the top flap.
7. Create the bag by adhering the 1″ flap to the inside of the bag using a strong adhesive, then fold the bottom flaps in and adhere them together.  For a neater look, make sure the bottom front flap is adhered very last.
8. Slightly pinch the sides of the bag so that the top edges of the opening meet together, then fold the top flap down over the front of the bag and seal using a hook & loop dot.
EasterBag_SideFold.jpg
9. Cut a piece of cardstock at 1¼” x 3″ to create the decorative strip for the top flap. (I used Canary cardstock.)  If desired, use a corner rounder on the bottom two corners, then stamp your desired sentiment.
10. Attach the cardstock strip to the top flap, then wrap twine around the flap and tie in a decorative knot or bow.
EasterBag_TopFlap
11. Using the Easter Bunny stamp set, stamp the desired images onto White Daisy cardstock, then shade the images using ShinHan markers. Cut out the images and adhere them to the front of the bag using Foam Tape.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS: On the Thistle bag, I used the Flock Together stamp set to create the heart background with Pansy ink.  I cut out a 2¼” scallop circle from Pansy cardstock, then a 2″ circle from White Daisy cardstock to create the tag on the front of the box.  Both of these shapes came from the Art Philosophy Cricut® cartridge.  The sentiment was created using the writing feature in Cricut® Design Space.
