You’ve Got Class School Album

How many of you have a stack of school photos with great intentions and hopes to scrapbook them? Well, my friends, here is an A+ project just for you. Close to My Heart has created a way for you to preserve your child’s K–12 school progress with the You’ve Got Class Kit. This unique project even includes special folders made for preserving standout schoolwork and other memorabilia. What a great way to preserve the highlights from each school year in one scrapbook!

Our You’ve Got Class special features an exclusive paper packet, coordinating cardstock, and stamp set.  Each one is school themed and designed to create some extraordinary paper crafting projects.

We also have a special You’ve Got Class workshop kit that you can purchase at a 25% discount.  This kit includes the patterned paper, cardstock, True Fit folios, and embellishments needed to create fourteen 12″ x 12″ single pages, one title page and a page for each grade from kindergarten through twelfth grade.  We are bringing back True Fit™ folios just for this special workshop. These 12″ x 12″ White Daisy file folders allow you to store all your school-related memorabilia and fit inside your Memory Protectors™ in your album.

This kit would pair perfectly with our Pocket Memory Protectors™. You could easily add a few of these after each main page, add the year’s photos, a few embellishments and PML cards, and you have an album full of memories.

So, now that Close to My Heart has provided the kit, I am going to provide the time. I have designed four workshops just for you to be able to complete this entire album.  Each workshop will provide you with a pre-cut kit, stamps & inks, and time set aside that allows you to complete a few pages for your child’s album.   I can’t wait to see what you create!

Cardmaking with Central Park continued

Earlier this week, I told you about our amazing Workshop Your Way® Cardmaking Kits.  Each of these kits include supplies to make twelve handmade cards with easy-to-follow instructions and an exclusive acrylic stamp set. As you saw in my previous post, I used the Cheers to You Cardmaking Kit as inspiration for three other cards.  Today, I am going to show you two more cards I created.

The card shown above is one of the originally designed images in the product guide. The angled card design, use of  Watercolor Paints, and Central Park products inspired me to create a few more cards than shown in the guide.

Each one of these cards uses that same angled card design, yet each one was used in a different manner to take advantage of the pattern in the Central Park Paper.  I also chose to use Central Park Scrapbooking stamp set for the images on these cards.  This stamp set is full of great images that can be used on a variety of projects.

I love how I was able to use a Cardmaking Workshop Your Way® Kit along with the exclusive stamp sets to customize these cards for my workshop. I would really enjoy teaching this workshop to  you and your friends. If you would like to host this workshop, and receive a free stamp set for hosting, please contact me.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

Cardmaking with Central Park

Have you ever taken a few minutes to view the Workshop Your Way® Cardmaking Kits on my website? Each of these kits include supplies to make twelve handmade cards with easy-to-follow instructions and an exclusive acrylic stamp set. Did you know that you can use this product guide as inspiration for even MORE card designs? Let me show you how

I decided to use the Cheers to You Cardmaking Kit. I adore that Hot Air Balloon image as well as all the delightful little sentiments that can be used for whatever occasion you are creating for. The card shown above is one of the originally designed images in the product guide.  It is a simple, super-cute card using Watercolor Paints as a background for the Balloon image. This angled card design really inspired me, and, as you will see, prompted me to create three more cards using Watercolor Paints and Central Park paper.

Here is one of the cards I created that is similarly made to the original design with a few additions. On this card, I took advantage of the pattern on the back of the paper included in the kit. By using the Pacifica colored paper along with some Poppy paper scraps from the Central Park Paper Packet, I was able to give this card a more masculine feel.

I used the Balloon on the second card in the project guide as inspiration for adding Watercolor shading to the image. I also enjoyed how it looked on the Glacier cardstock, but wanted to add an additional layer, so I cut the Glacier using our Stitched Circle Thin Cuts, then cut a Pacifica circle using the Basic Circle Thin Cuts.  I LOVE how these two sets of Thin Cuts are designed to work together.

Finally, I used some Pacifica cardstock, the acrylic stamp set, and White Embossing Powder to create a heat embossed sentiment for the card. I really enjoy how this card turned out.  By using the project guide as inspiration, I was able to create a classically designed card with a more masculine feel.

You can use the Cardmaking Workshop Your Way® Kits along with the exclusive stamp sets to customize your cards to your liking. I will be posting the other cards I created throughout the next few weeks, and hope to host a live workshop showing you how to create each one. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Dog Days of Summer Layout

Now that my kids are grown, most of the photos on my phone are of my sweet little fur baby.  Yes, I am one of “those” dog mom’s who spoils her fuzz ball with all kinds of treats and toys.  To be honest, the first time I saw the Central Park Paper Pack, I knew I had to create a page just for my pup. This “Dog Days of Summer” layout is the final layout in my Central Park Workshop series.

If you missed the previous layouts, you can view the “Life is a Beautiful Adventure” and “Sun Kissed” layouts in my previous blog posts. All three of my Central Park layouts can be created using a half-pack of Central Park Paper, the Coordinating Cardstock, Central Park Sequins, and Cricut® die-cuts from our various collections.  You can even individualize each layout by adding some Central Park Alphabet stickers and Flip-Flaps.

You can purchase the Full Workshop Guide in my online store, or purchase just the single Layout Guides you wish to create. Each guide includes a supply list, full-color cutting guide, Cricut Design Space™ file, detailed photos, layout grid, and assembly instructions.  You are also welcome to purchase the kits if you would like. Each kit comes pre-cut and ready-to-assemble.

I can’t wait to see what you create!

Sun Kissed Layout

I truly enjoy creating scrapbook kits and guides using our delightful patterned papers.  This month, I have been working on a workshop kit using the Central Park products.  I hope you enjoyed the “Life is a Beautiful Adventure” layout I created last week, because, if you did, I know you will enjoy this one.

This layout is titled “Sun Kissed” and is designed for you to record those summery, “sun kissed” memories.  When you are born a carrot-top, you are often kissed by the sun (in more ways than you wish), so I created this layout for those “I really should have used sunscreen” moments.  As I assembled this layout, I thought it would also make the perfect backdrop for some beach baby photos. You know, the ones where they are running around in their new swimsuit, belly pooched out, diaper sagging, and all red cheeks.

If you have a few treasured “Sun Kissed” memories that need scrapbooked, you can purchase this Scrapbook Kit or the Cutting Guide from my online store. Each Cutting Guide comes with a supply list, cutting guide, full-color photos, Design Space™ file, and assembly instructions.  I have one more layout to showcase in the Central Park series.  Make sure to keep an eye out for it later this week. It’s sure to make you “dog-gone” crazy for this paper pack. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Life is a Beautiful Adventure Layout

Have you seen all of the Central Park paper creations that are appearing on social media lately? I will admit, when I first saw this paper packet, I wasn’t too keen on the color combinations.  The Poppy, Lemon, Pacifica, Bashful, Mink, Glacier, and Willow color palette made me feel like I was walking down the midway at the state fair. Yet, as I created this Life is a Beautiful Adventure Layout Kit, I began to fall in love with all of the possibilities.

One of the color combinations I have enjoyed is the Poppy, Pacifica, Glacier and Mink combo (with a little bit of Lemon). I created this layout kit specifically for some photos I had.  You are welcome to purchase this layout kit or the guide in my online store, but before you do, I want to show you a few ways that you can alter this layout to fit your needs.

Just because you purchased the guide or kit from me, does not mean you need to copy this layout exactly like I made it. Adding a little texture is a great way to make it “your own”.  When I added the photos, I chose to use a Sponge Dauber and apply White Daisy Ink to the clouds.  You could also use Glacier or Mink to create the same type of look or add even more texture with an Embossing Folder.
I truly enjoy how this title turned out, and it’s perfect for the kits I create, but it didn’t quite fit the photos I chose. Mine had quite a bit of Poppy coloring to them, so I chose to use the Central Park Alphabet Stickers to match my photos.
Who doesn’t like a little more bling? When I completed the layout, I wanted a little more coloring to the Hot Air Balloon so I choose to add some of the negative pieces from the Cricut® cuts and a few Lemon colored Central Park Sequins. Not only did I change up the balloon, I just had to add that little heart from the Central Park Alphabet Stickers.

There are so many other ways that you can change up this layout to make it your own.  You could change the 4″ x 6″ photos to (2) 3″ x 4″ photos or replace the PML cards with photos. Here is what my layout looks like completed.  Can you spot any other differences?

If you would like to recreate this layout, you can purchase the Life is a Beautiful Adventure Kit or Guide in my online store.  Each Guide includes a supply list, cutting guide, Design Space™ file, full-color photos, and assembly instructions. I will be posting a few more projects throughout the next few weeks using the Central Park products. After all, it’s really beginning to grow on me.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

Summer Time Crafting

Summer is just flying by and I seem to be adding more and more to my calendar.  As my son said, “My calendar is beginning to look like a Jackson Pollock painting”.  I am sure you understand exactly what I am talking about.  Unfortunately, for most of us, this means our crafting gets set aside for the summer causing the “miss my crafting blues” .  To prevent this, I have set up a few “Crafternoons” at the local library just for you.

On June 23rd and July 21st, you can come enjoy some time for yourself to catch-up on crafting, chat with other adults, and have a few hours where you are not saying “no you cannot have another snack”.  I will also be offering a few workshops those days which you are welcome to learn from, but the ultimate goal is for you to have a day of “craft happiness”.

Please make sure to RSVP for these events by sending me an email or leaving me a comment below.  Cost for each Crafternoon is $10.00 or FREE with a $30.00 order from my website. All proceeds from these events will benefit Operation Smile.

I hope to see you there!  Have an amazingly, blessed summer. I can’t wait to see what you create!
