Scrapbook Your Summer Memories

If you are like me, your summer gets super busy and you have very little time to scrapbook.  You try to cram as much as you can into your summer vacation, take lots of amazing photos, and never take the time to scrapbook the memories.  My summers are blessed, but I don’t always have the time to get all my photos onto a page. This is why, I adore our Workshop Your Way Kits and I am especially enjoying the Fresh Air Scrapbooking Kit for my summer photos.  If you have never taken the time to test out these kits, here are a few reasons to give them a try.

SAVE TIME SHOPPING FOR SUPPLIES
I enjoy shopping as much as any paper hoarder, but when life gets busy I don’t have as much time to search for papers, matching cardstock, stickers, or ribbon.  Close to My Heart has done all the work for you.  Each kit has beautifully designed color-coordinating, paper, cardstock, die cuts, stickers, and embellishments created with you in mind.

STUNNINGLY DESIGNED EYE-CATCHING LAYOUTS
We all have an artist in us that can create wonderfully designed layouts, but some days I just don’t have the time or energy – especially in the summer.  With each of these kits, you get three stunning layouts, multiple card designs, and you don’t have to do any planning, designing, or use many brain cells. Close to My Heart even includes an easy-to-follow cutting and assembly guide.

OPTION TO ADD EVEN MORE PHOTOS
How many photos did you take of this year’s camping trip? Honestly, I don’t know that I have the time to create that many pages, so I love that these kits have the option to add Pocket Plus pages to each layout. These Memory Protectors fit perfectly between your pages and allow you to add additional photos and journalling without compromising the design of your layout.

LEFTOVER SUPPLIES!!!
Yes, you read that correctly.  Even if you choose to create the card designs shown in the assembly guide, you will still have paper, cardstock, die cuts, stickers, and enough embellishments leftover to create more projects.

This summer, I encourage you to spend more time enjoying the sunshine and that lounging area in your backyard, and less time scrapbooking all of the memories you are making by purchasing a few of our Workshop Your Way Kits. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Classic Summer Layout

Have you ever tried using a PageMaps sketch as inspiration for your layouts? This year, to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day,  Scrapbook & Cards Today challenged it’s readers to create a layout using this NSD PageMaps Sketch.  As you know, I always love a challenge.

I also like to inspire you to use stamped images to enhance your scrapbook pages, so for this “Fresh Summer Lemonade” layout I chose to use both the Postcard Perfect and the Classic Summer Bash stamp sets.  This layout reminded me of the days when my children would set up a lemonade stand for the neighborhood.  I am not sure if the lemonade was very tasty, but everyone was always a good sport and supported their efforts.

You can find the complete list of supplies used at the very bottom of this post.

Paper Needed: 12″ x 12″ Bashful Cardstock, 12″ x 12″ Dotted Vellum (Postcard Perfect), 10″ x 7″ B&T Paper (Beautiful Friendship)

Techniques Used on This Layout:
1. To create the stitching around the page, I used a Ruler with our Piercing & Embossing Tool to create the holes, then used Pink thread for the border.
2. The “Jute Twine” was created by pulling apart the White Burlap Ribbon into individual threads.  Three of the threads were wrapped around the B&T paper. The three remaining threads were used to create the bow.

3. The Lemon & Flower border was created with images from the Postcard Perfect and the Classic Summer Bash stamp sets. After cutting out the images, they were placed onto the page using Thin 3D & 3D Foam Dots.
4. The “Tags” were stamped using Smoothie Ink.  I added the paper strip from a piece of the “True Story” PML card, punched a hole, and added threads of White Burlap Ribbon.

5. The “Straw” was stamped using Pixie ink, then I re-stamped the rim of the “Jar” along the top, and added the “Straw” to the “Jar”.

These exclusive, summer-themed stamp sets and the Postcard Perfect products that I used on my layout are only available during the month of May.  You can purchase each of these by visiting the Promotions Tab on my website, but they are only available while supplies last so make sure you grab them before they are gone. I would love to see what you create using this sketch or these exclusive stamp sets.  Feel free to post your work on my Facebook page for all to see.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

JackiePeachPostcardCardWorkshop

For all you card makers out there,  I have found an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL card workshop that is  “Postcard Perfect”.  This card workshop was inspired by the talented Jacquie Paech, and each card has been designed beautifully for any occasion.

Relax with No Worries Layout

As you know, I enjoy each week’s Color My Heart Dare Challenge. They inspire me to try something new with a color palette I would not have likely chosen.  This week, we were challenged to use only Cashmere, Glacier, Lagoon, Sapphire, Whisper and White Daisy inks with the No Worries paper pack, so I chose to make a scrapbook layout for some fun summer vacation photos.

NoWorriesLayoutOne

This layout is one that we will be making in my upcoming No Worries Creative Club Workshop where you will learn how to use our inks to enhance your scrapbook pages. On this layout, I used our White Daisy Exclusive Ink Pad to add foam caps to the waves.  It really added dimension to the layout.  You can find a list of the remaining supplies I used to create this scrapbook page at the bottom of this post. Please feel free to ask questions about the layout, my upcoming workshop, and the products used on this layout.

If you are one of my long-distance followers, you can purchase the Workshop Guide which includes a link to the Cricut Design Space file so that you can recreate this layout using our inks and sponging techniques.
